Look and Feel Natural with Organic Baby Clothes

Where Organic baby clothes came from

The few people that I know that are purchasing organic baby clothes started out or were introduced to the whole eco-friendly or a green world environment thru organic foods. After we discovered the benefits of organic food to our bodies it was only natural to look for other ways to benefit from this concept. Organic food has been with us a long time and it enables us to not only ensure that we are not consuming chemicals and pesticides in to our bodies and destroying our immune system. But at the same time it, means that the ground that these products are grown in is also not contaminated with these same chemicals and pesticides.

Organic Fabrics Come From Two Sources

The fabric that our clothes are made from comes from two sources. Man-made, such as polyester and nylon which use oil and other chemicals and the other is natural materials that come from plants like cotton or animals like wool. Man-made fabrics cannot be organic because they are made from chemicals. Natural fabrics on the other hand ensure that the environment has not been damaged. Fortunately clothing manufacturers are wising up to this growing concern amongst the eco-friendly and fashion conscious customers.

Organic baby clothes Come in Wide Range

A wide range of organic fabrics are now available and as more and more companies are recognizing the importance of organic baby clothes there are more choices than ever before. There is also a wide range of natural fabrics. Bamboo clothing is quite popular and even has thermo-sensitive properties. We can also take this organic clothing concept one step farther by looking into the behaviour of the companies that are manufacturing the clothing. It is easy to investigate a company’s reputation on-line. You can not only check out their reputation but you can also take a look at how and where their products are manufactured.  Do they use carbon off-sets or fair trade practices. If you’re buying organic clothing, you probably want to know that the company you are buying from employs companies that use ethical work practices. Look for companies that manufacture in the US or Canada or companies whose factories are third party audited using the Business Social Compliance Initiative or BSCI monitoring system. This system is based on the labour standards of the International Labour Organization.

Buying Organic baby clothes

Buying organic or eco-friendly clothes means more than just buying fabrics that look and feel great. The way that the company operates should go back as far as the recycling of office paper. This should also include both plastic bottles and cans. Each and every decision that an environmentally friendly company makes should reflect that belief. It now falls on the consumer to dig a little deeper to make sure their money that we spend is going to a company that really deserves it. If you happen to have organic clothing but you’re looking for a new style you might consider donating your clothes to a local non-profit or charity.  Having a clothing swap with friends where you all bring clothes to trade with one another is an awesome eco- friendly concept. Your waste can be another person’s treasure.  Gently used clothing, or clothing that has been worn before, is great for the environment because there is no manufacturing for a product that already exists. That means no carbon dioxide emissions, smaller carbon footprint and less clothing going to the landfill. Looking for organic baby clothes, men, babies or kids is just another step forward to achieving an environmentally friendly world.
